China is only one of many countries worldwide that are being affected by the desertification. More and more of China's land is becoming desert and none fertile. The UNCCD is holding conference to discuss what to do about it. China's government has set aside 1/5 of the grassland for restoration to stop the spread of desertification. I find this very interesting to research to find out what is going on in the world and how people are trying to prevent and stop it.

China has a large population and while a large percent are farmers. Even though the land is large farmers are crowded the land and trying to produce so much. They produce for themselves and other countries, such as the US

Once again... all this knowledge of dust storm stuff is totallyyyy new to me... never realize the BIG issue it is, and not only in the High Plains or whatever... but in like the ENTIRE world. And it's crazy to me that cities are being effected cuz it's not like they are surrounded by grasslands and such... the storms are traveling TO those cities... makes it even more surreal and crazy.

I'm with Kayla, heck I didn't even know that Dust Storms like the ones we've been reading about in "Worst Hard Time" were even happening still today. It's terrible and I hope that China and other areas who are dealing with the Dusters find a way to get the land under control. It was such a struggle for the people of the high plains, I feel bad for anyone who has to endure them still today.
