English 101 Fall 2010 Day 10
No class on Monday (English Department Retreat)
Keep notes until Wednesday.
Homework for Tuesday: A Thesis statement and a "scratch outline"--that is: Topic sentences for each paragraph you intend to write.

1. Essay One
a. Rough Draft Due—October 6th
b. Final Draft Due— October 11th

Planning
i. Assess the situation.
ii. Exploring ideas
iii. Formulating a tentative thesis.
iv. Sketching a plan.

Drafting (On Tuesday)
i. Introductions and thesis
ii. Body
iii. Conclusion

I am very glad that we went over thesis statements in class and i think that using the clickers was a great way to vote.

I wrote out my thesis for smoke signals but it sounds kinda of corny. I am looking forward to getting feed back on tuesday also to see what other ppls takes are on victor.

I found it extremely easy just to do the free write. It gave me a lot of ideas for my paper and really helped me shape those thoughts into words :)

Wow, it's been 16 years since I last wrote any kind of paper. I can't believe how consumed I became with the subject matter, Smoke Signals even invaded my dreams!
