Am i the only one having trouble picking out the heroes journey for scout. this was really well written almost to well to pick out the journey . I see scout growing up but i can't put my finger on the call.
I agree with you, Steve, it is not as obvious as in "Smoke Signals"; I think it is much more spread out and underlying. I still have much more reading to do before I can put my finger on it!
I appreciate how Mr. Peters keeps the class involved with discussion, ideas on boards, etc. Maybe I'm just happy to be back at school (its been a long time), but it seems he does a pretty good job.
What is the time of the story?
* 1930's (1936)Franklin D. Roosevelt time
* Summer season & School time
* USA, Alabama,
* Landscape is dirty/dusty
* Climate is hot w/ the exception of the 1 day it snows
RACE: "n" word, segregation. CLASS: low-agriculture/med-lawyers, docs. GENDER: proper & improper: SCOUT IS NAIVE
