It was nice to see the poem over again - it caused me to go searching for Dick Lourie stuff and am now quite interested in more of his work.
Interesting comments from Alexie in an interview in Cineaste Magazine [v23,n4(Fall,1998):28(5pages) telling how his "basic creative spark" for Smoke Signals was a trip he took with a friend to pick up the friend's fathers ashes in Phoenix, AZ.
